- The Hummer X SUV and Hummer X Pickup represent GMC’s newest mid-size concepts for the brand’s Hummer vehicle line-up.
- These ideas are lower by one class each than the ridiculously massive Hummer EV SUV and Hummer EV pickup which GMC is selling at present.
- Regrettably, for those people who would have been interested in the medium-sized Hummers, GMC had already stated in its press release that “the models [are] not intended for production.”
Size may be an asset, but variety adds that little bit of spice to everything. What person would not enjoy having more choices? It is time for the GMC to get back down to size after releasing some of its gigantic electric concepts by unveiling two new electric concepts of a slightly smaller size known as the Hummer X SUV and the Hummer X Pickup.

However, it is obvious that the designs belong to the Hummer family. Still, there are several design differences when compared to today’s Hummers. In particular, the SUV receives multiple color schemes with the red canopy roof. Another difference is the body shape since long cutouts are created above the hipline. However, flat roofs are retained by both concepts similarly to other models in the line.
The wheelbase of 116 inches for the SUV concept makes it only slightly smaller than the wheelbase of the Ford Bronco (116.1 inches), and it is comparable with that of the Jeep Wrangler four-door SUV (118.4 inches). As for the dimensions of the vehicle, the SUV design measures 188 inches in total (eight inches shorter than the existing model). The pickup concept has a wheelbase of 130.7 inches (five inches shorter than its counterpart), and it is 207.3 inches long (10 inches shorter).

Apart from the smaller stature and unique design, these concepts have also been fitted with interesting features of a concept car. These include a set of applications called “The Hummer Hub,” along with a scout drone which the auto manufacturer says can be sent ahead up the trail to identify any potential obstructions.
As much as it would be exciting to see GMC take the new concepts for the Hummers into production, it appears that is not what GMC has planned. The concepts are, in fact, “not intended for production,” and are rather a way for GMC to explore new technology and aesthetics.
