Photos showing the Xiaomi YU7 GT dressed in an eye-catching color scheme of “Cherry Red” (Burgundy) have emerged on the internet, showcasing the complete design of the sports crossover as production units start piling up at the manufacturing plant. Its unveiling is expected in late May, with its positioning as a “sports car-class SUV for travels.”

Design and Exterior
While retaining the typical long-hood profile of the conventional YU7, the YU7 GT has been equipped with unique performance features. The front bumper gets a reworked design, with a sharper splitter incorporated into it. The front fenders have been widened to create the wide-body look.
- Aerodynamics: The vehicle features 10 sets of through-air channels, a large rear diffuser, and a rear spoiler with a central protrusion, likely housing new sensors for advanced driving assistance.
- Wheels and Brakes: It rides on 21-inch wheels and is equipped with red brake callipers, expected to be paired with carbon-ceramic discs.
The Xiaomi YU7 GT is a mid-to-large size SUV with the following measurements:

It should be noted that Xiaomi representatives specified why the name “GT” (Grand Tourer) was used instead of “Ultra”. According to them, while the SU7 Ultra model is all about extreme track performance, YU7 GT is aimed at offering both high speed and luxury for long travels.

The YU7 GT is equipped with a double-motor powertrain consisting of a front motor produced by Inovance, and a rear motor, developed specifically for the SUV by Xiaomi itself.

The Xiaomi YU7 was introduced last June and managed to acquire 200,000 orders within a short while, with sales reaching 39,089 at the peak last December. Having successfully liquidated its large number of pending orders, it recorded sales of just 13,558 in March, which was even more than its production level last June and July before full production kicked in.
