MG Motor Reveals the 2026 MG 07 as a Sleek New Electrified Sedan

MG has introduced its latest luxury EV and hybrid sedan inspired by the Porsche Taycan, called the 07, set to launch in China before the end of this year.

There are no plans for the car in Australia yet, although based on previous models, it might take up to 12 to 18 months before it appears in Australian dealerships.

International sources suggest that the MG 07 will retail for under 200,000 yuan, challenging a Tesla Model 3 RWD variant costing 235,500 yuan or $54,900 plus on-road fees in Australia.

Pictures of the exterior of the car maker’s latest sedan model have been shared by MG, with similarities to the Taycan as well as to Chinese models produced by Xiaomi and the company’s parent firm, SAIC Motor.

The MG 07 seems to be a sedan model instead of the liftback one, featuring a LiDAR sensor atop its roof to help the Momenta R7 semi-autonomous driving system on advanced versions.

The carmaker said that the MG 07 features “physical scene understanding and predictive reasoning akin to that of an experienced driver” as reported by Carscoops citing an MG press release.

It is alleged that MG has confirmed the use of a next-generation architecture, as well as a plug-in hybrid version and fully electric variants of the upcoming MG 07.

Detailed information on specs has not been disclosed yet, but more details are expected to become available as the launch day draws closer.
