2027 Hyundai Ioniq 9 Black Ink Edition – Stealthy Electric SUV Revealed
  • The latest model year, the 2027 Ioniq 9 by Hyundai, comes with a new luxury version known as the Performance Calligraphy Black Ink Edition.
  • Like its name suggests, the Black Ink Edition is all black inside and out, and its loaded with standard features.
  • While Hyundai hasn’t said how much it’ll cost, we expect it to exceed $80K when it goes on sale sometime this summer.

Hyundai has recently unveiled the latest iteration of its flagship three-row electric SUV. This car is known as the 2027 Hyundai Ioniq 9 Performance Calligraphy Black Ink Edition, which, along with being very difficult to pronounce, is also very beautiful since it comes both inside and out in all-black paint.

The Black Ink Edition now stands shoulder-to-shoulder with other cars having impressively long names, including the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition and the 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera. However, for those interested in extremely long names, there’s always the king of them all, the BMW Individual M760Li xDrive Model V12 Excellence THE NEXT 100 YEARS.

However, it is not the first time that Hyundai has produced a black-colored edition model; the Ioniq 6 Black Edition and the Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition come to mind immediately. Similar to its predecessors, Hyundai has taken the Ioniq 9 and painted all its exteriors black.

Then, what does one really have with the Black Ink Edition? Well, the first thing to note is that there is just one paint choice for this model, which is the Abyss Black Pearl. When it comes to exterior, this version features black chrome front and rear skid plates, roof rails, window moldings, inner door handle, and badges. Furthermore, the Black Ink comes with unique 21-inch turbine design black wheels. Hopefully, these great-looking wheels will be available on other Hyundai cars in the future.

As for the interior, everything is black inside the car. From the seats to the dashboard buttons, the steering wheel, screens, and so much more is all black. Moreover, to complete the look, this car has beautiful black aluminum trim.

This is the high-performance Performance Calligraphy trim, so you basically get everything from Hyundai. Besides what you get from other trims, the list includes a head-up display, microfiber roof and A-pillars, remote smart park assist, single-touch rear window functionality, and metallic pedals.

In the Black Ink Edition package, you’ll get the dual motor all-wheel-drive configuration, generating 422 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Our tests have shown that the Performance AWD model was able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.4 seconds. Every car gets an 110 kWh battery pack that delivers a range of 311 miles – same range as any other Ioniq 9 equipped with 21-inch wheels.
