One of the things that make a vehicle such as the Nissan Frontier great is its variety of options available when it comes to trimming the vehicle in order to customize according to preferences and requirements. And in the case of the upcoming model year 2027 Nissan Frontier, there is yet another option coming up by way of a Sport Edition for the already versatile and rugged SV-grade Frontier.
As the name suggests, the 2027 Sport Edition of the Nissan Frontier sits between the more economical SV trim level and the rugged and toughened-up Pro-X grade. It features sporty yellow seat stitching on the cloth-upholstered seats, Sport badges on the bed side and rear tailgate, as well as black accents on the lower front fascia, mirrors, and grille. On top of its regular wheels, the vehicle receives 265/70R17 Hankook Dynapro all-terrain tires.

Another feature being added to the lineup of features for the 2027 Frontier is the new Alpine Metallic body color paint option. The current lineup includes Bluestone Pearl, Red Alert, Tactical Green Metallic, Afterburn Orange, Gun Metallic, Super Black, Glacier White, and Boulder Gray Pearl. We don’t have any idea about the people responsible for these names, but we think they have an enjoyable task.
From the technology point of view, the wireless phone charger in the Pro Convenience package is getting better by offering fast charging capacity. Qi2 standard offers a magnetic attachment for keeping the phone properly placed while charging along with a fan for maintaining proper cooling of the phone. A moonroof will also be available in the Pro convenience package-equipped trucks.
From a specs standpoint, not too much is different in the 2026 to 2027 model year. The engine will be the same 3.8-liter V-6 from Nissan that makes 310 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque. Trim levels range from the basic S up to SV, Pro-X, Pro-4X, and finally SL. King Cab and Crew Cab versions are available, along with either 5- or 6-foot beds.
