Forget the $630,000 iFerrari, since there is another, brand new electric car released by an even more iconic Italian manufacturer, which may have much greater potential in North America than Ferrari’s. Allow us to introduce you to the all-new Lancia Gamma.
Those unfamiliar with or who do not play the Gran Turismo video game series might not know, but Lancia was and still is a legendary rally manufacturer having won more titles than anyone else. However, their approach of winning on Sundays, so selling their cars during the rest of the week, did not work in favor of the company, since they sell only a couple of hundreds of subcompact Ypsilon cars in their home country. This might change soon with the introduction of their all-new Lancia Gamma crossover.
Not many details were revealed, although we can say that the all-new Lancia Gamma crossover will be produced using the 400V STLA Medium EV platform, which will make it Lancia’s first-ever crossover and give them a better chance of increasing their market shares in at least two decades.

tellantis will be launching its newest Gamma with what it calls “comprehensive powertrain offerings,” including the launch of a PHEV model featuring 145 hp as well as a BEV range starting at 230 hp front-wheel-drive with a 540 km (approximately 335 miles) range, all the way to a high torque AWD with a power output of 375 hp and a 675 km (420 mile) range, courtesy of a massive 104 kWh battery.
Such specifications would surely be sufficient to usher Chrysler into the modern age in America, especially given the availability of a PHEV variant which would certainly appeal to the strength of CJDR’s salesforce, namely their expertise in selling Jeep 4xe and Chrysler Pacifica PHEVs.

Within, the Gamma presents a toned-down version of the design language seen in its concepts recently showcased by a combination of buttons and controls for the HVAC system complementing the digital instrument cluster and center screen.
Price information remains unknown at this point, but Stellantis claims that manufacture of the vehicle in Melfi plays an essential role in this initiative, highlighting how this particular vehicle was created specifically for the European market and manufactured in Italy using state-of-the-art technologies.
