2026 KTM 1390 Super Duke RR First Look – The Ultimate Naked Beast

However, it has now been officially confirmed. The bad news is that only 350 copies of the machine will roll off KTM’s assembly line, with no indication whether the model will ever see release stateside.

While there is nothing technically standing in the way of the US introduction, considering the machine’s 1350cc LC8 engine – same as in the 1390 Super Duke R Evo and the outrageous Brabus 1400 R. Nevertheless, whatever its engine is, the LC8 engine certainly doesn’t lack performance, providing a healthy 187 hp and 107 lb-ft of torque. However, in order to deserve an additional “R” in the name, this Super Duke RR got some special treatment including reduction in weight and upgraded suspension and braking systems. Thus, overall, it was possible for KTM to shave off a considerable amount of 24 pounds from the machine.

In terms of diet, it begins with the use of carbon fiber extensively in the bodywork, such as in the new tail that does away with the passenger seat and footpegs. Another feature that makes the RR unique to others of its kind is the titanium Akrapovič silencer, which makes its exhaust note distinguishable, along with reducing a few ounces of curb weight. Other weight-saving elements include the seven-spoke forged alloy wheels, which weigh approximately three pounds less than the stock model. The RR rides on Michelin Power Cup 2 tires, thus reinforcing the sportscar-like characteristics of the RR.

To make the RR lighter, KTM has replaced the electronic semi-active suspension found on the Super Duke R Evo with premium passive suspension components. On the front end, there is the presence of two WP Pro Components 8548 closed cartridge forks, while at the back, you will find WP Pro Components 8750 monoshock.

Theme continues with the braking system, which now features the latest Brembo HyPure Sport calipers instead of the Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers found in the R and Evo editions. According to KTM, the new brake and clutch master cylinders have lowered lever effort by 10%, while also reducing lever throw by 50%. Furthermore, the new HyPure calipers are 3.5 oz lighter than their predecessors.

Apart from the performance parts upgrades, there are some features that hint at future developments on other KTM models: among them is an 8.9-inch touchscreen instrument panel, which seems to be an upgrade compared to the stock version. Among the different screen modes, there are split screens that allow map-based navigation. There are also new illuminated switch cubes on the RR with a five-way joystick control on the left bar. The manufacturer states that the connectivity module has been updated for enhanced smartphone connectivity. Regarding the riding modes, KTM introduced a “Beast Mode,” which minimizes rider aid input to minimum required standards.

The price difference between the RR and the 1390 Super Duke R Evo models has already been announced, and the former is about 28 percent higher than the latter. Additionally, the RR is 40 percent more expensive than the base version of the 1390 Super Duke R. As the cost of the former model is estimated to be $22,149 in the United States, the RR can retail at about $28,000 if it is available there.
