Volkswagen has now completely unveiled the ID. Polo. Orders for the car will commence “from the end of April”, meaning today or tomorrow. In Germany, the ID. Polo will be offered from €24,995 in the base Trend model. Volkswagen claims the car is “an excellent bargain”. You’ll have to decide for yourself.

The car offers four engines and two battery packs. The 85kW (116PS) and 99kW (135PS) engines come with the smaller 37kWh net capacity LFP battery pack, allowing 90kW DC fast charging. The 155kW (211PS) engine is paired with the larger 52kWh net NMC battery pack with support for 105kW DC fast charging. This engine will also be featured on the ID. Polo GTI, producing 166kW (226PS). The GTI version will come next year.

According to the manufacturer, the range in the WLTP test cycle should amount to between 329 km in the cars equipped with the smaller battery pack and up to 454 km in the vehicles with the larger battery pack. There is also the “Digital Cockpit” of 10 inches for the driver as well as the infotainment display of 13 inches in even the base model named Trend. In addition to all the above-mentioned features, the second trim line named “Life” provides a few extra amenities like adaptive cruise control, rear camera system, park distance control, front cross traffic assist, anti-glare interior mirror, and electric folding exterior mirrors. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come with this particular trim as well as the wireless smartphone charger.

The top-trim of all is Style which features the LED matrix headlights, 3D tail cluster, illuminating VW logo both at the front and the rear, sport comfort seats, “high quality materials,” heated steering wheel and seats, as well as two-zone climate control.

Alternatively, one may opt for an advanced 425-watt Harman/Kardon sound system with ten speakers and a subwoofer, panoramic glass sunroof, and pneumatic massage feature for the electronically adjustable 12-way front seats. The Vehicle to Load capability will come as standard across all variants and will support up to 3.6 kW.
