Among those priced over 400,000 yuan ($58,890), the ES8 was again at No. 1, irrespective of power source, Nio said.
The ES8 model, the third generation version of which was launched at Nio Day 2025 on September 20, 2025, began delivering to customers the next day on September 21.
This six- or seven-seat three-row electric SUV costs 406,800 yuan with the battery pack included, and is one of the priciest cars produced by the company and other Chinese automakers.
In order to maintain the sales of the high-profit model, Nio Inc decided to extend its earlier limited-time purchase bonuses announced in May and enable customers to take advantage of a zero-down-payment interest-free five-year financing package.
Moreover, customers who will confirm their orders by the end of May will be eligible for a 10,000-yuan purchase tax discount. All of these bonuses are intended to win over additional customers in the highly competitive Chinese market.
As of April 2025, deliveries of the ES8 totaled 13,028 units, taking into account both domestic sales and exports, accounting for 44.38% of all deliveries made by Nio Inc in the mentioned month.

The large pure electric SUV achieved the landmark sales target of 100,000 units in late April after only 215 days since its delivery launch. The continuous high sales helped boost Nio Inc’s financial results recently.
The company will release its unaudited first-quarter earnings before the opening of the U.S. stock markets on May 21. The company shipped 83,465 units in the first quarter, surpassing the top range of its guidance of between 80,000 to 83,000 units.
For example, the ES8 shipment was 45,185 units in the first quarter, making up 54.14% of Nio Inc’s shipments for the quarter.
Moreover, the recent model from the company, namely the ES8 Mirrorblack Edition, has a starting price of 456,800 yuan.
Finally, the company plans to officially unveil the latest flagship SUV model of ES9 in the next few days, namely on May 27. The pre-sale of the model has already begun on April 9 at a price of 528,000 yuan.
Alongside the ES9, the new SUV Onvo L80 of 5 seats will be launched by the company’s sub-brand, Onvo, on May 15.
With the introduction of several strategically important new models like Nio ES9 and Onvo L80, the overall deliveries of Nio Inc can be expected to show an increasing rebound throughout May and June.
