Suzuki has released the MY26 Hayabusa line in Australia, with the main updates coming in terms of styling, presentation and the introduction of a Special Edition model. There are no mechanical changes made to the current iteration of the Hayabusa for 2026 – it continues with the same platform and changes are being implemented mainly in terms of improving rideability. In addition, the Special Edition model will feature a unique look and will be available only in limited quantities. Most of the allocation of this model has already been pre-sold, leaving only eight Hayabusa Special Edition models in Australia available through Suzuki’s Build Your Bike website starting 12:00pm AEST on Friday, 8 May 2026, priced at $29,990 ride away. The base version costs $28,990 ride away.

As Suzuki’s flagship hyperbike, the MY26 Hayabusa continues to use the same approach that was adopted when introducing the model back in 1999. This approach centers on delivering maximum performance in terms of low to mid-range horsepower and torque, smooth and controllable power delivery, fast acceleration and good handling capabilities.

The new Hayabusa Special Edition is equipped with a more distinctive aesthetic appeal than its base model counterpart. This includes its special paint color along with its own decal graphics, wheel design that corresponds to its special edition aesthetics, 3D Suzuki fuel tank logo, and special edition logo on the fuel tank. There are some other small alterations, including the use of an anodized muffler end cap, anodized heat shield, and seat cowl.

Along with the Special Edition model, the other MY26 Hayabusa is available either in metallic galaxy grey and candy burnt gold color schemes or candy daring red and glass sparkle black.

Since the release of the Suzuki GSX1300R Hayabusa in 1999, it has enjoyed a distinct position in the history of motorcycling, earning immediate praise around the world as the fastest production motorcycle. This motorcycle has had a maximum speed ranging from 303 to 312 kilometers per hour, thus making it the fastest motorcycle in the world and becoming legendary in terms of the superbike speed wars. In order to restrict speeds on future models of production motorcycles, manufacturers from Europe and Japan reached a sort of agreement which limited the top speeds on production motorcycles to about 186 miles per hour from late 2000 onwards. The timing of such a development further served to establish the legacy of the Hayabusa, since it was the only model that was not restricted by the manufacturer agreement.
