KTM’s mid-sized adventure gun gets WP Pro Components and Akrapovic slip-on exhaust, set for arrival in Australia in small numbers
KTM has introduced the new 890 Adventure R Rally for the year 2026, which is a limited number edition model that can be regarded as the most advanced manifestation of the technical prowess of the brand when it comes to rally engineering in the mid-capacity adventure category. Built on the chassis of the existing model, i.e., the 890 Adventure R, the 890 Adventure R Rally comes packed with features inspired by the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing rally motorcycles.
The 890 Adventure R, according to KTM, is considered to be a “benchmark of offroad travel performance”, and the 890 Adventure R Rally has been designed for those riders who demand factory-grade suspension systems and rally-oriented rider interface.

The crucial upgrade is in the suspension system. According to KTM, the 890 Adventure R Rally features WP Pro Components based on WP Factory Racing racing programs.
The front end utilizes an aluminum-made WP Xplor Pro fork equipped with a Cone Valve system, complemented by a WP Xplor Pro shock absorber. KTM provides the following numbers for the suspension travel: 270 mm. Moreover, KTM highlights the following characteristics of the suspension system – enhanced front-end feel, great bottom-out resistance, and an increased feeling of plantedness. Furthermore, KTM highlights that the comfort was considered while developing this system; thus, stability and composure were achieved.

Power derives from the highly efficient KTM parallel-twin engine with a displacement of 889 cc, delivering 106 PS and 100 Nm torque at 6500 rpm. In addition, according to the manufacturer, other features that make up the electronics pack also contribute towards the bike’s rally objective, such as Offroad ABS, various ride modes (including the Rally mode), traction control and motor slip regulation.
All settings can be controlled using a 5-inch TFT display, while the Connectivity Unit adds Turn-by-Turn+ navigation.
As mentioned earlier, KTM also provides details of the Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty that covers up to four years. However, the bikes need to undergo servicing as per the service schedule at an authorised KTM dealership in order to maintain their warranty eligibility. For more information, visit ktm.com.
